Report 2: Family Guy
1. I have chosen Family Guy for my portfolio because it is one of my favorite TV shows. It is relatable, yet humorous personally. Everyone in my family is a fan and we often watch it together. I do not know an episode I haven't seen.

This review is from different people who mainly believe that the show is not as funny as it used to be, but is still funny for the right reasons. I agree, the show has "cleaned" up a little and the best episodes are when the boundaries are tested. It is wrong to compare it to any other animated comedy TV shows.

Apparently, it is important for parents to judge TV shows for their children. This review says "Contrary to its title, this isn't a family show," and that the youngest age watching should be 14. While it is animated, it isn't a kid's show.

This fan I can really agree with because they believe that Family Guy is the best television comedy out there right now. Much credit goes to Seth MacFarlane, the creator and voice of many characters. The episodes relate to pop culture and major important topics and sheds light on them. In short: "Edgy, funny, intelligent and extremely creative."
3.The comedy in television I chose is the American animated sitcom Family Guy by Seth MacFarlane. The show's humor branches from gags and reference to current events and pop culture. The show has aired in 27 countries and has influenced spin-off sitcoms like The Cleveland Show.
The sitcom is about a dysfunctional family called the Griffins who live in Quahog, Rhode Island. The parents are Peter and Lois, the kids are Meg, Chris, and Stewie, and they have a dog named Brian. The show's plot are based on the adventures of the Griffins. Peter is a ridiculous Irish-American Cathlic married to Lois, a stay-home mother and piano teacher. Meg is awkward and does not fit in at school and is regularly mocked by her family. Chris is overweight and unintelligent, like his father. Stewie is a demonic infant with adult mannerisms. The dog seems to be the most intelligent, with human mannerisms like drinking and talking.
The show began in 1998, but was briefly canceled in 2001 and then revamped in 2004. Family Guy has been nominated for 12 Emmys and 11 Annie Award, and has won three of each. The significant aspect of this particular show is its wide success and fanbase that led to its revival.
Seth MacFarlane is the voice for Peter, Brian, and Stewie Griffin primarily, and then sometimes for the various other recurring or one-time characters like Glenn Quagmire, Tom Tucker, and Carter Pewterschmidt. Alex Borstein voices Lois Griffin, Tricia Takanawa, Loretta Brown, and Barbara Pewterschmidt. Seth Green voices Chris Griffin. Mila Kunis voices Meg Griffin. These are just a few of the characters voiced by prominent names.

4. Family Guy consists of both humor and satire. The show is full of gags, allusions, and one-liners, commonly making fun of real people and situations that people can relate to. The audience is questionable because the show is animated, making it seem as though it is for children, but definitely is not. Some mature children can possibly watch it, but primarily the show is directed towards teenagers and adults. Some humor only certain older adults can recognize. Therefore the audience can be for a broad range of ages and people. The audience is similar to the audience of shows like South Park and King of the Hill.
